Overview - Description of our Private Charters:

Elegance at Sea offers private yacht charters that can be custom tailored to your needs and desires. Our typical private charters consist of 1/2 Day or Full Day Sails, Sunset Sails, Multiple Days, Weeks etc. Each private charter includes a licensed and experienced captain plus a crew member. Additional crew may be required for trips with more than 10 pax., longer voyages, or other reasons. Included in trips under 8 hrs., are snacks and soft drinks. Beer, wine and liquor are available upon pre-request Variety of food menus as well as our 'Luxury Champagne and Caviar Fantasy' optional services are available for pre-booking. Sailing, snorkeling, destinations etc. may be selected by the captain or designed by the passenger, subject to conditions. Local and long distance cruising is available. Choose a standard trip or customize your own.

WHAT TYPE OF PRIVATE CHARTERS DO WE OFFER?

Half and Full Day Private Sailing Cruises:

Your sailing adventure begins from the Seaport Marina, located in the heart of town. Our trips are custom tailored to your desires and safety. Sailing is adjusted to your liking, and of course conditions. Adventurous or relaxed. We are YOUR OWN PRIVATE YACHT AND CREW (Captain & Mate) for the duration of the voyage. The only limits are legal, safety, security and sea conditions. Our attentive and experienced captain and crew will design a trip for you or assist you in designing one of your own. Sail, snorkel, dive, fish, sightsee, sunbathe, relax, experience and learn or improve your sailing, whatever would make your trip enjoyable. Complimentary snacks and refreshments are served along with any other drinks and food that you have requested. Snorkel gear is provided at no cost. Our captain and crew will happily answer any questions that you have about Aruba as well as sailing and our beautiful sea.

Our most popular excursion, sails along the beautiful southwestern coast of Aruba towards the lighthouse. We stop at popular snorkel, swimming and/or dive sites depending upon time and your desires. When you return to the boat after your swim or snorkel, our attentive crew will prepare drinks and snacks. If you requested lunch, we will serve it shortly thereafter while moored off the coast in a picturesque setting.

Another popular trip sails you east along the southern coast of Aruba to a local more secluded snorkel or beach destination. As few tourists are aware of this area, it is still perhaps the nicest snorkel spot on Aruba.

Some people prefer to just sail, sail, sail! We can set sail in either direction along the coast or head south towards Venezuela. You can sail with our assistance, we can sail with yours or we can sail and you relax and enjoy. We are happy to teach or discuss with you aspects of sailing, from the bare basics to navigation and advanced sail techniques. Think of us as YOUR PRIVATE YACHT AND CREW!

Sunset Sailing Private Cruises:

Your sunset sail cruise departs from the Seaport Marina late afternoon for a three (3) hour sail along the southwestern coast of Aruba. We leave the harbor for a relaxing sail between the setting sun and Aruba's coast. As the sun sets to our west, Aruba will come to life to our east. The various 'happy hour' bands and festivities of the hotels in the background. You will enjoy one of the most romantic experiences in Aruba. Of course our captain and crew will be there to serve you or to just let you alone to relax and enjoy the ride. Refreshments are served for your enjoyment. Perhaps you wish to enjoy champagne and caviar as you watch our beautiful setting sun!

For your culinary pleasure, we have made arrangements with select local restaurants who have prepared menus specifically for us. Our crew will complete the preparation onboard and serve you. You may choose from a wide variety of menus ranging from sandwiches, cold cuts, to our basic or deluxe onboard barbecue to Italian, German, Mexican, Seafood, French, Aruban or Caribbean cuisine.

One popular option is our Onboard Barbecue. Imagine as you return to the boat after a swim, snorkel or dinghy adventure, you smell scrumptious barbecue being preparing for lunch or dinner. After a cool drink and a brief rest, you will enjoy a leisurely meal, from the freshest ingredients, skillfully prepared by our crew. What's Included?

·         Private Yacht Charters: includes boat, captain, crew, refreshments, snacks and towels. Not included are tips*, and 'options' such as meals and liquor. Guests may bring their own or we will provide whatever they like. Guests should contact us to make arrangements. Prices will vary according to your choices.

What Options Are Available?

Can I get Extra Time?

Extra Time is available. Charters may be extended provided that it does not interfere with another booking. The costs are: $165 per hour if pre booked or $185 per hour mid cruise. Extra non sailing time at the dock is available for $85 per hour. This is for guests that wish to have their meals served after the cruise or who would like to just relax onboard after the trip. If a guest would like to use the boat as their 'home base' while in town, they can have the boat accessible to them from 7pm to 2am at a flat fee of $250.

Daily & Weekly Crewed Charter Programs

Our daily and weekly (also monthly) crewed charters offer you the ability to use "YOUR YACHT" for full 24 hour periods. The crew will be at your disposal for an average of 8 hours per day, the yacht is yours for the whole day. Go where you wish. Design your adventure. The whole boat is at your disposal. We offer two private staterooms plus a 'pull out' double' in the main saloon. Cruising grounds include Aruba, Venezuela, Curacao, Bonaire, and the entire Caribbean! All depending on time and conditions. The vessel and crew are fully equipped and ready to sail the world! The vessel was designed as an ultra luxury world cruising yacht, fully 'found' and ready to go. You supply the food, any local expenses and the desire. This is the ultimate way to fulfill your fantasies of sailing the world. Whether it be a day or two, week or two, month or two or by the year!

HERE’S A FEW SUGGESTED ITINERARIES

Sail Aruba’s Southern Coast:

Depart the Seaport marina for a leisurely sail to the 'Lago Islands' at the eastern end of Aruba. We will anchor where you can swim off the boat, or we will dinghy you to the small string of tiny totally private islands off the shore. Picnic, BBQ, swim, sunbathe, collect shells, enjoy. You may also go ashore to some of Aruba's most interesting beaches, 'Rogers Beach', Baby Beach', Boca Grande, etc. Play tennis at the public courts, snorkel, swim, explore. We can arrange to have a car waiting to take you to San Nicolaas, Aruba's 'other city'. Visit world famous Charlie's Bar, have dinner on Board (perhaps a BBQ) or dine at a local restaurant. Spend the night on board, under the stars, relaxed and gently rocked by the motion of the sea. Next day after breakfast, finish your activities, play tennis, have a picnic at 'Baby Beach' or on one of the islands and then set sail for a beautiful sail along the southern coast of Aruba. Perhaps get an earlier start and stop along the way at Mangel Halto for a fabulous snorkel and Barbeque or lunch onboard or continue your sail to the opposite tip of Aruba. Snorkel some of Aruba's best spots. Perhaps the German Shipwreck "Antilla", sunken planes, shipwrecks, beautiful coral reefs. The choices are yours. Watch the sunset and overnight near a beautiful beach and sail home after breakfast and perhaps a morning swim.

Longer Voyages - Three Island combinations:

A) This one week vacation offers the most pleasurable alternative to the difficult and lengthy sail east from Aruba (beating against wind and current), and offers the most time in the destinations. Sailing from Bonaire is usually much quicker, easier and more pleasurable. You will fly into Bonaire, where 'your crew' (us) will have sailed to meet you. Spend two nights onboard while exploring the island, during this time we will also make day sails to explore some of the fabulous diving, snorkeling and sailing. We will set sail early evening the third day for an overnight sail to Curacao. While you are enjoying breakfast, we will arrange to clear customs and immigration. After that we will dock in the heart of Willemstad where you can explore town and Curacao. We leave the following evening for an overnight sail to Aruba. Again, enjoy breakfast while we clear customs and immigration for you, after which we will dock in the heart of town where you can enjoy all Aruba has to offer in your remaining time. Again we will make day sails to show you some of Aruba's finest snorkel, diving and beaches. You may stay in Aruba onboard (without the crew) as long as you like using the boat as your floating hotel using our 'boat and breakfast' program's low 'extra days' rates.

B) For those originating in Aruba that have already explored Aruba's Sea, you may end the cruise upon arrival in Aruba. This cruise will then be a 5 day program.

The above mentioned programs require one-way charge equal to the time and costs of sailing from Aruba to Bonaire.

C) Of course you can begin your sail in Aruba, however, due to sea conditions when heading toward Curacao or Bonaire we have found it to be a rough trip.

BAREBOAT EXPERIENCE

Although we do not fully Bareboat our vessels (except in cases of long term rentals), you can have a "Bareboat Experience" with us. If you are an experienced sailor than you can rent our vessels as a 'Bareboat', provided that you also hire an any of our approved 'guides' who MUST be onboard at all times while underway and who will have the right to take command if in their discretion any difficult or possibly dangerous situations occur. They are familiar with the waters and the vessels and will help guide you and make your trip more enjoyable. They will show you the vessel, take the vessel from the dock as well as dock her upon return (with your help), help you determine cruising plans and be your extra eyes. Our guides are not hired as crew, but rather to offer guidance and assistance if and when needed. You must be an experienced sailor to charter bareboat. all of our previous bareboat experience guests have told us that having a guide made their sail much more enjoyable.

What's Included?

·         Bareboat Experience: includes only the boat and 'guide' (required), each are charged per Rate sheet.

LONG TERM RENTALS

On longer term 'Bareboat' rentals, we offer Yacht Rentals where you can rent our yacht for weeks or months at a time (without a guide) to explore on your own. We spend a day with you to 'teach you the specific yacht' and offer local knowledge.

Long term rentals are available by the month, by the season or per year. Please e-mail us with your request for details.

BOAT & BREAKFAST

Our Boat & Breakfast program allows you to use our vessels at the dock as your private 'floating inn'. Boating experience is not needed as you do not sail away from the dock (unless you book one of our trips at a discounted rate). Rates vary according to vessel and number of guests. Continental breakfast is included, served each morning onboard or at our favorite restaurant nearby. Our over night guests use the vessel as their "floating hotel", conveniently located at the harbor dock in the heart of town, you have full use of the Sonesta Hotel facilities, including mall shopping, Sonesta Island, pools, beaches, tennis court and health spa. This is ideal for those that wish to stay aboard after a long cruise, or just those 'adventurous at heart'.

·         Boat & Breakfast: includes the boat (not to leave the dock) and continental breakfast.

DOCKSIDE DINING

Enjoy a romantic dockside candlelight dinner for two served on board our elegant sailing yacht Vida Libre while docked at the seaport marina in the heart of town. YOUR OWN PRIVATE CHEF will serve your complete dinner for just you two. Music, candlelight, elegance, and romance. You will be greeted at the dock by our uniformed captain and escorted to your private yacht where you will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling champagne. For under $300 including wine, appetizer, entree, and desert spend the next several hours enjoying one of our fine menus prepared exclusively for you.

DOCKSIDE PARTIES & DOCKSIDE EXTRA TIME

We offer Private Parties at Dockside or extra time dockside perhaps for dinner served onboard after sailing. For those that wish to entertain on the boat but at the dock, you can use our boat for your party! We can arrange catering, champagne, snacks, or whatever the guest wishes. ALSO, for those guests that would like to use the boat while at the dock, after their cruise, they may do so at an hourly cost of $65 (without crew) $85 with one crew.

Who is the Crew?

The Crew consists of a U.S.C.G. licensed captain and experienced crew member with over 20 years of sailing experience. On trips that include optional food & liquor, an additional cook/ crew member is usually added to help with food service.

  3. Provide a payment at the time of your reservation. The payment for any options will be collected at the time of boarding. See "Payment" section for more details. .
  4. We will call you to confirm that we have received your deposit, review any options detail and forward written confirmation.
  5. We ask our guests to call us at the day before departure to reconfirm times for any possible changes.

Why Charter a Boat with Elegance at Sea?

Payment

We will collect payment of base charter rate at the time of your reservation. The payment for any options will be collected at the time of boarding. For reservations made over two (2) weeks in advance, a deposit of 50% of base charter is required balance is due prior to boarding. We accept Cash, Direct Deposit, Wire Transfer, Visa, MasterCard however all credit cards will be surcharged 5% to cover fees. Charters longer then one (1) day must pay deposit of 50% at the time of reservation. Balance must be received at least 45 days prior to reservation. If booking is made within 45 days of reservation, full payment is due at time of reservation.

Refund Policy

Each charter is custom tailored, reserves the entire boat, crew and perishables, and is labor intensive for us to plan and organize. Therefore cancellations received more than 45 days prior to reservation shall be refunded less 25% penalty. Cancellation received less than 45 days prior to reservation are nonrefundable. Please feel free to contact us with ANY questions.

If you would like anything that is not indicated we would be happy to locate it for you, so please feel free to ask for special items. Martha’s Vineyard Salad, romaine lettuce gently tossed with red onions, almonds, crumbled blue cheese, topped with our Maple syrup & raspberry vinaigrette dressing.

Fresh Whole Cold Poached Split Caribbean Lobster complemented by a basil curry mayonnaise, served with potato and vegetable of the day. Fabulous lobster feast exquisitely prepared by "La Bouillabaisse".

Barefoot Elegance Dinner: (another favorite)

Homemade Vichyssoise (Chef's special potato and leek soup) served chilled.

Seafood Newburg, a combination of sea-scallops, chunks of Red Snapper and Caribbean Shrimps blended in a rich white wine sauce, baked with Swiss cheese. Served with vegetables of the day.

The French Gourmet:

Salad Nicoise, a regional favorite of Provence, a tasty combination of chunks of tomato, cucumber, green beans, anchovy fillets, crumbled tuna, and black olives dressed with virgin olive oil.

Potato Crusted Grouper Fillet served with lemon dill sauce and vegetable of the day.
